The times-audience and industry

 Audience

1) What are the main audience demographics for The Times newspaper? Add as much detail as you can.

The Times' target audience, according to ABC data, is predominantly ABC1, over 35 and has a liberal/ right-wing political stance. This well-educated and middle-class audience take an interest in national and global affairs and can understand and engage with detailed political reporting.

2) What aspects of the front page of the Times CSP edition suggest that their readers are likely to be more educated and interested in hard news rather than entertainment?

There is more writing and the image is much more smaller which makes it harder for a more younger audience to read it because they would see it as boring.

3) Times readers are mostly over 55 years old. Why is this and how is this reflected or challenged by the design and news stories in the CSP pages we have studied?

The design of new stories appeal to a wider audience and don't only target an older audience .This can be shown in the story about Gary lineaker because he is a football coach

4) What are the main audience pleasures offered by the Times? Use Blumler & Katz Uses and Gratifications theory

personal identity and surveillence because it is educational and speaks about football which would be appealing to an audience

5) Why might a reader enjoy this CSP edition of the Times? Use Blumler & Katz Uses and Gratifications theory categories and write as detailed an analysis as you can.

It gives off personal identity and personal relationship because people enjoy listening about football as well as politics
