It was because they were sharing their music on these sites and did not expect people to talk and share their music at first but then people began sharing their song and they gained a following which helped them become viral.

BLACKPINK was formed by an entertainment company whereas Arctic Monkeys wasn't because they were all friends from school.BLACKPINK became famous because of their songs which would hit number 1 on the chart.Arctic Monkeys became famous for selling their CDs and sharing music on MySpace.

Arctic Monkeys record label is Domino.They sold over 350,000 copies of their debut album.Arctic Monkeys did not sign to a major label,but recorded their own music before signing to independent record label,Domino Records.They were not interested in working with a major as it would undermine creative control.

It has,simultaneously,opened the door to people who would like to discover music,and musicians that they would never have heard however the internet is a prime component to blame for the decline in sales and revenue of major label record companies and the decrease in royalties paid to artists.
